I always thought I was unlucky. If you feel the same way, you need to read this!
This bit of news made BBC headlines a little while back. It's about the man in this photo, Tsutomu Yamaguchi, who has quite a story to tell.
On Aug 6, 1945, Tsutomu was on a business trip to Hiroshima. While there he had the bad luck to witness a rather big explosion! Most people didn't survive to tell the story, but Tsutomu survived with serious burns.
Given his injury, and given that the city wasn't exactly in order, he decided to cancel his business trip. Tsutomu waited till the dawn of the next day and headed back to his hometown of, well, you guessed it, Nagasaki!!
Tsutomu is the only known survivor of both atomic bombs. His double-dose of radiation is a world record. 200,000 people died in both bombings, and countless others by the radiation after-effect. Mr. Yamaguchi survived both, and lived to tell the story today at age 93!!
Still think YOU'RE unlucky??
