One rule to fix it all

There is no one grand scheme to fix the world. There might be a scheme but it ain't that grand. You fix the world by getting the masses to follow one little tiny rule, each at their own pace and on their own miniscule scale.

I believe there is enough stuff out there for everybody, enough food and water and clothes and shelter. The only problem is that this stuff is not well distributed: Some go cold out there while a pretty warm jacket sits forgotten in someone's abandoned closet in Hawaii.

The fix is simple. Commit to the following rule:

"If you won't miss it, and someone else needs it, you HAVE to give it away."

It's not a favor, not an option, it's not something you plan on doing, not something you'd do if you had the time or the effort. You go out of your way, and find a way to get that box of old stuff into the hands of those who need it.

It's not charity, nothing to brag about, it's how you fix the world, so that when you die it's been worthwhile...
